Better Times In Sight 1. Seven long years I've been listening Soaking up every sound I heard Only to find at the back of my mind I never understood a word chorus But there's a city up ahead that's called tomorrow And I'm going to make it by first light. I can see the glow on the horizon And I know there are Better times in sight. Better times in sight. 2. Seven long years I've been shouting To the limit of my voice Only to find to one could hear me In the chaos and the noise chorus 3. Seven long years I've been walking On a road that's paved with doubt Only to find at my journey's end I don't know why I started out chorus Better times in sight. 4. Seven long years I've been sleeping But I'm awake now, and I'm alive I don't know what I'll find when I get there I'll let you know when I arrive. chorus Better times in sight. But there's a city up ahead that's called... Tomorrow

Magical Time 04:54

about

Two singer-songwriters, and two songs - one about looking forward to better times, and one about looking back to magical times.

Chris Conway & Dan Britton chose a song each from their respective debut solo albums to record and release as a taster for their forthcoming album in 2020 - a bonus taster too as these songs are not on the album.

They also thought that a lot of people round them seemed to be a bit down with everything going on in the world at the moment and that these songs would bring a bit of hope and feelgood feeling to the autumn.

Better Times In Sight was first recorded as a bonus track on the 1999 re-release of his 1995 debut songs album Sounds Like Rain. The new version has Chris Conway, Dan Britton, and special guest Sally Barker each take a verse each and harmonizing in the choruses just as they did many times on their 2018 tour together.
Chris thought each verse represented each singer quite well - himself, the listener (he listens to music all day and much of the night!), Dan Britton - the voice, as one of the most emotive voices on the scene, and Sally, the traveller, as she has been zipping up and down the land playing her songs for as long as Chris can remember.

Magical Time is a one of Dan Britton's best loved songs. It was also first recorded on Dan's 1998 debut solo album Riding The Red, White and Black Horses. It's been in the Conway Britton live set for a long time and it paints a picture of halcyon days of Dan's youth, and ours too.
